Identified by Eylla/Ila Sargent as her grandfather, James Warren Sargent. He was born in Onondaga Co., New York and moved around 1847 to Fulton Co., Ohio, then on to Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties in Michigan.

The man on the right is Martin Luther Cary, the son of Martin CARY and Carrie Achsah BENSON, of Onondaga Co., New York. Martin is the brother of James's wife, Helen Mar Cary. He moved with his family to Lenawee Co., MI and on to Allegan Co., MI. About 1908, 'Luther', his son and granddaughter moved on to Happy Camp Twp., Siskiyou Co., California.
