SALZGASSE

Salzgasse

"Salzgasse/Saltgasse" – was the little street under the "Mülheimer Freiheit".

Every community of the Departement Mülheim was engaged to fetch the salt for the whole year in the first four month of the year. The Salt was not allowed to be sold by dealers/shopkeepers.......but !!! in 1812 Eleonora von Zuccalmaglio at first got the right to sell salt for 5 Stüber per Pound (500 g) to the others.
