Emaline Wilcox was born Jul 10, 1825 in Bath, Steuben Co, New York and died Jul 17, 1894 in Great Valley, Cattaraugus Co, New York. The daughter of Seymour Wilcox and Sally C Sargent, Emaline married William Chamberlain in 1842.

"Emily was 3 years old when Seymour and Sally were married. I've always thought his mother, Rebecca Stillman Wilcox, didn't approve of the connection since the wedding took place shortly after her death. Will was born out of wedlock too. At least his parent's marrige was questionable, it being his father's third wife and who knew what happened to the second? Very interesting story appears in Will's father's estate papers." Phyllis
