ALMA SARGENT

    A Letter From Sister, Helen . . .

    Huron, Dak. [Dakota]
    June 20th, 1886

    Dear Sister and all
Your dear letter has remained unanswered a long time which I am very sorry for, and tonight while we are so very busy I am going to steal a way just a few minutes and write you a short letter. I will not promise you a long one but I know you will appreciate a short one better than none. Well Ann we are getting ready to go home. We expect now if nothing happens to start the seventh of July. Emerson [Emerson EAGAR, husband of Helen] will go with us. He will remain about three weeks and then return to Huron and leave Sara and I there to stay untill the first of September. Don't you think you can make arrangements to go before I come back. I should like so much to see you and I don't think it will cos you so very much. Just think what it will cost us, but I don't care. I won't always have a father and mother to visit and further more I will live just as long if I go as I will if I don't. Life is too short to sacrifice too much and I wish you would think so and go. Never mind the Doctors bill if he don't get his pay this year he can some other year. Besides I think it will do you lots of good to go home and enjoy yourself. Take Harley [Harland BENEDICT] with you and Nels [Nelson Benedict] too if he will go. Please write me soon and tell me you are going. I want you to say yes. I will send you a lock of my hair as you wanted me to with love to all I am

    Your affectionate
    Sister Helen
