Jesse Rodman Casterline was born to Chauncey Casterline and Chryscilda Hatch on Aug 18, 1846 in Burns, Allegany Co, New York. Between 1860 and 1875, Jesse moved to South Dakota, where he married Etta R Lewis in 1875. They had two children, Jessie M and Lorton R between July 1884 and Nov. 1887. Etta died in Hand Co., South Dakota in 1914. Jesse was living in Miller, South Dakota in June 1919, but died in Clinton twp, Macomb Co, Michigan, apparently while on there visiting his nephew, R. G. Maloney (Raymond George Maloney), the informant on his death certficate.
