John Cordio was born in Jun 22, 1903, in Sicily, Italy. Despite major setbacks, his determination led to his married to Edith Haskins about 1925. He died in Dane Co, Wisconsin on Jun 10, 1974.

The original photo of John Cordio, Sr (Giovann) is pictured beside the fig tree sent to him years before, from California, by his son James Cordio, as he waited to ship out for the Korea War.

This photo was taken in John and Edith (Haskins) Cordio's grocery store at 1801 Beld Street, Madison, Wisconsin. They operated the grocery for 36 years from about the late 1930s to the 1970s. The photo is estimated to have been taken about 1948-50.

Pictured left is probably Edith Cordio, the middle child and third daughter of John and Edith Cordio. Standing next to the daughter is her mother, Edith (Haskins) Cordio. On the right of the picture is John Cordio, Sr., standing beside his son, believed to be James Cordio, nickname Jim, the youngest child of seven. This is based on a July 1975 Newspaper Article that indicates that "Jim" and his mother were operating the store when it was robbed by three gunmen.

John Cordio, Jr. was born Apr 27, 1932 in Madison, Dane Co, Wisconsin, like his siblings. This photo was taken in 1937.

John Cordio Jr. was a sophomore in high school when this photo was taken, about 1949-1950.
