Adelaide Fuller and Ransom Scovill

Adelaide Fuller was born April 28, 1840 in Wayne, Steuben Co, New York, the 4th child of Isaiah Fuller and Electa Boardman. Adelaide married Ransom Crawford Scovill on Nov 20, 1859 in Hillsdale, Michigan. They had eight children.

Adelaide (Fuller) Scovill died on 24 Mar 1895. The Hillsdale Co. record says she was age 64yrs 10mos and 26days. However, she was born on April 28, 1940. That means she was actually ten years younger (54yrs 10mos 26days) when she died. Electa, her youngest child (top right in the above photo) was just 12yrs 3mos old when her mother died. Electa looks to be about that age in the photo. Therefore, it seems that Adelaide must have died shortly after this photo was taken, probably about 1894 or 1895. Ransom would be almost 57 years old.
