The Recorder - Waldron, Michigan - January 3, 1902
EDITOR MARRIED New Year's eve., Dec. 31, 1901, by invitation of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. SMITH, of Edmore, Mich, about 60 of the friends and relatives met at their home on Home Street to witness the marriage of their oldest daughter, Minnie, to Mr. Lewis W. BAILEY, of Waldron, Mich. The bride was attended by Miss Grace M. GIBBS, of Edmore, and Mr. Lee H. SMITH, of Wayland, acted as best man. The (illegible) dressed (illegible) gray cheviot, trimmed with white silk. The brides floowers were white roses: and those of the bridesmaid, white carnations. The bride is well known in Edmore and is highly respected by all who know her. Her parental training has been such that she is well qualified to play her part in life battles. As she is to leave for her new home, she will be missed by her many friends and acquaintances. Mr. BAILEY is well known (illegible) other parts of the state. He is located at Waldron Mich, where h is owner and publisher of the Waldron Recorder, and is giving satisfaction to his many patrons. While Mrs. J. WARREN played the wedding march the parties took their pos- in the front parlor under a beautiful wedding bell where Rev. Ira W. BELL, of Pittsford, said the words that made the two one. After congratulations were offered and the presents were examined; which were both useful, beautiful and costly; the company were invited by their hostess to a bountiful repast which, as far as we could see, gave satisfaction. Then came the social part which was greatly enjoyed. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Clmer COMPSON, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. FITZGERALD, and Mr. Ray FITZGERALD, of Millbrook; Mr. and Mrs. J. S. MATTHEWSON, late of Seattle, Was. and Mr. Lee H. SMITH, of Wayland, Mich., besides a number of friends in the village. In the near future the parties expect to be settled in their home in Waldron, where they will be glad to entertain their many friends. All will join in wishing them a prosperous journey through life. It is hoped their nuptial ship may never founder, but enjoy smooth sailing into the harbor of rest. Courtesy of Delores Kimling, obtained from District Library, Waldron, Michigan
