CHARLES F. FITZGERALD
INVENTOR

Charles Fitzgerald - Inventor

Jeannine Byard writes: "This first one is interesting because it shows that great, great grandpa Charles Fitzgerald was an inventor. He had stationery that had a picture of the Universal Fire Escape on one side and the discription on the other.

Also of interest, is the content of the letter, written to my great grandma, Helen (Fitzgerald) Bressin. I wonder if perhaps she had Power of Attorney for Lee Fitzgerald, when he was in the Navy. It appears that Charles was borrowing some money from his son, Lee, through Helen and he was paying 25 cents interest.

From the note it sounds like Charles was raising potatoes to sell. I also wonder if his reference to cars is talking about shipping them out by rail in train cars.

Note also how he signs his name with a Capital "G" on Gerald."
